Attendees at an IoT conference

The Complete List of Every IoT Conference in 2020

January | February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October | November

There are an increasing number of IoT conferences popping up all over the world as this emerging technology becomes more and more mainstream.

It can be difficult to keep up and to plan out which ones you’d like to attend which is why I started making a list of every event I have come across for 2020.

This is now the most extensive list of IoT conferences, events, webinars, and forums on the internet. Period.

To make it easier to navigate, I’ve added links so that you can jump to the month you’d like to see the events in. I’ve also tried to indicate what type of event each one is with an icon next to the event name. Anything with an icon of people is a general IoT conference, and all the others are industry verticals (so the cogs are for manufacturing focused events, the lightbulb is energy, etc.). To view more information on an event, click the + symbol to expand to see the date, location, website, and what to expect.

I also made a public Google Calendar with all the events that are shown here so that you can keep track easily.

I’ll keep updating this post as more IoT conferences and events are announced so that you can stay up to date throughout the year. Make sure to check back into the Temboo blog and follow us on LinkedIn for coverage of the events that we attend this year.

If I missed any let me know on twitter @temboo or send an email to hey@temboo.com and I’ll update the list!

Welcome to the Canadian Well Site Automation 2020 Exhibition and Conference where shale operators and service companies will meet with automation experts and key technology providers in Calgary to explore efficient and cost effective well site solutions. The face of well site operations is fast changing as operators navigate through the ‘digital oilfield age’ and introduce new technologies across well sites and embrace the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT). As operators adjust to a lower oil price market, new initiatives towards more efficient and cost effective operations have become essential in order to remain profitable in a low-margin business. While automation has reduced OpEx and CapEx costs and helped producers to survive in a low-price market, operators are now challenged with the growing risks associated with complexities of the digital oilfield. With new developments in well site technologies and technical know-how, recent advancements in automation offer new hope for producers looking for operational efficiencies under challenging market conditions, and to better manage their well sites. The Canadian Well Site Automation 2020 conference is set to become Canada’s leading exhibition and conference exclusively for shale operators and technology experts, to present new solutions in well site automation and IoT applications for pre-existing wells and new operations.

The prospect of a global economic downturn, combined with low productivity and the advancing climate emergency is accentuating pressure for the construction industry to find more cost-effective and sustainable ways to operate. While new technologies have improved industry efficiency, digitisation alone cannot transform the sector. Change requires a more comprehensive shift in business models, supply-chain interactions and a move away from the emphasis on bottom-line cost. In order to achieve real change, the industry must accept a new definition of ‘value’ which incorporates the wider social, environmental and economic impact of the building sector. But what does a new framework for collaboration look like and how can it be achieved in a profitable way? What responsibility do different stakeholders have in actioning change? How can the sector meet the changing demands of current, and future, populations? The FT Global Future of Construction Summit will connect the senior executives from across the construction supply chain tasked with finding new ways to improve profitability, efficiency and sustainability in the industry. Through careful consideration of the bigger picture trends governing building pipelines, together with a sharp focus on the strategies which can accelerate change, the summit will explore a new framework for redefining value and rebuilding trust in the industry.

The rising awareness of climate change has caused the popularization of sustainability and the realization that we need to do things not only differently, but better. As focus shifts to finding solutions to climate issues, technological advancements and innovation present a promising way forward. The Internet of Things, for example, which Boston Consulting Group estimates will boom into an $267 billion dollar industry by 2020, promises to facilitate great leaps in our efforts to transform our places and spaces, from homes and offices to entire cities, into sustainable environments. If IoT technologies build on not only established technology, but also new capabilities in the backend, such as artificial intelligence, deep semantic interoperability and novel contractual arrangements like Blockchains, they will undoubtedly bring fundamental change to all sectors of activity, improving the way we live and work. In other words, IoT is likely to be an essential element of the Next Generation Internet, setting the groundwork for systems and devices of the future.
